Quick shout out to Mama’s, who has donated more food than we can handle for just about every one of our meetings this year. Thanks for hookin it up and supporting the bike messenger community!

And of course, our meetings are at 638 E 6th St, not far away, every second and fourth Tuesday of every month. Stop on by, eat good food, and help us make our industry better!

Cranksgiving 10 was the biggest & best New York Cranksgiving ever. With 106 racers, it was New York’s largest alleycat of the year, too. Five different charities were supported: City Harvest, The NYBMF, Nazareth Housing, Hudson Guild, and Saint Mary’s. Over $2000 was collected for City Harvest & The NYBMF. Nazareth Housing & Hudson Guild both received 100 cans of baby food. And St. Mary’s received at least another $1000 in food donations.

The generous donations of our many sponsors allowed prizes to be given out for the top 6 girls & guys, plus top 3 out of town, and a few prizes for the “most generous” people, who dragged in entire turkeys and far more than twice the amount of food they were required to buy. A special thanks goes out to Neighburrito, John & Charlene Roberts, Justin Talent(?), Bushwick Country Club, and Nooka who’s generous gifts allowed us to raise over $2000 in cash.

“There will be a prize for king of style, all city bomber and illest up. looking for talent, dedication, and bravado respectively.There is a photo contest in this race. Bring a camera (or ride with a friend who has one).also, you will need a peice book for this. A small one can be had at Scrap Yard on Canal for $8 or at AlphaBeta for some money (not sure how much). or pearl paint, pratt, etc…. We will have some available, but would be good to grab one before Saturday. 8 cases of ink from KRINK/ 5 cases of aerosol from Plutonium G/5 points is in the mix” damn thats alot of paint!!

it’ll be long but fun and you’ll see some parts of NYC you don’t normally see and the afterparty, well that’ll be bananas, we got free food, ill raffle prizes, dope DJs (I got a Trini Soca DJ crew coming up form Philly as well as K tel, Stache and myself) and cheap booze. So yeah let’s get poppin.

Race to collect food for NYC’s homeless. Cranksgiving returns for the 10th straight year. A bag and a lock are REQUIRED because you’ll be locking up outside grocery stores to buy food inside. Last year was NYC’s biggest, with over 80 participants. Spread the word, because this year, your clients (or you) can donate to City Harvest through Cranksgiving & the NYBMF. Friday, October 24th, 2008
6pm - MEET at the corner of South East corner of Bowery and Delancey Street. We will bike-bus all the way to the Williamsburg Bridge. Bring noise makers, boom boxes, flags, ribbons, costumes, and lots and lots of friends!

6:30-7pm- RALLY at the base of the Williamsburg Bridge. Come sign the petition we are sending straight to Mayor Bloomberg! The Rude Mechanical Orchestra will be playing and members of Transportation Alternatives will be there to represent!

7- 9pm - Ride with us over the bridge to the first Adopt a Bike Lane AFTER PARTY at the City Reliquary in Williamsburg, BK - 370 Metropolitan Street at Haveymeyer - cheap drinks, hard beats, good times!!!
